- Tuesday: 6:30pm – 8:30pm
- Thursday: 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Since we practice in a school gym, there may be a couple times in January and February when our schedule conflicts with the school’s basketball schedule. We will communicate the training schedule as soon as those dates are confirmed. In most cases, the team will practice on Monday or Wednesday evenings, as opposed to Tuesday or Thursday.
🤝 Practice Expectations
QCVA athletes are expected to compete, every day and at every moment in training. Each athlete’s active participation, regular attendance and consistent effort in practice and tournaments is expected and will factor into playing time. Given we are human and have occasional off days, athletes should communicate to their coach and teammates the moments where they might not be at their best.
- You must wear QCVA practice shirts in training: black on Tuesday, grey on Thursday, QCVA apparel on Sunday.
- Arrive in the gym at least 10 minutes before a meeting time or the start of training.
- Come to training ready to work. It is your responsibility to stay focused – not joke around.
- Absences and tardies will be regularly tracked. There are conditioning and playing time consequences (see below).
- Each athlete is expected to contribute to practice setup/close out, and keep the gym clean/tidy.
🏐 Private Lessons
Please contact your coach to arrange a individual private lesson, which costs $60. Lessons are available to be booked from 6:30pm – 7:30pm on Tuesday and Thursday (before practice). We will invoice you in LeagueApps. Payment must be made 24 hours ahead of the lesson. Contact us with any questions.
📣 Communication Expectations
Our interest is to maintain open and timely communication throughout the season. We ask each family to trust the process of training and respect the expertise of our coaches and team.
- Coaches will organize parent-coach-athlete meetings once in the season. The goal is to create a shared understanding of performance and growth, and share feedback.
- In the rare event that an athlete has to miss a practice or a tournament, she is obligated to communicate to their coach and team with as much notice as possible.
- Athletes are expected to initiate conversations with their coach regarding questions, concerns or ideas. Parents, please be open-minded and curious before jumping to judgment.
- If outstanding questions or concerns remain, contact your coach. Please be mindful to respect boundaries and be reasonable when texting/communicating with coaches.
