High Performance Training

The High Performance Training Program teaches volleyball fundamentals and grows young athletes in the game.

As part of our mission to expand access to the game of volleyball in the Charlotte area, the High Performance Training Program develops volleyball skill and builds volleyball IQ among young people who are eager to grow as players.

Through this intensive program, participants train two days per week (Monday and Wednesday). Instruction will be led by QCVA Coaches Michelle and Kristen (Z). Coach Michelle, who played professionally in Brazil, was the head coach for QCVA’s 15/16U teams in 2020 and 2021. Coach Z is the head volleyball coach at Chambers High School.

The program is being hosted in partnership with former USA Volleyball Olympian Keba Phipps. Coach Keba will also lead sessions on an occasional basis. This program aims to create a pathway for promising athletes to join a QCVA travel team in time.

Training will resume in Fall 2022, so stay tuned!

My athlete isn’t a beginner, but has some experience. Are they a good fit for this program?

Yes! Our goal is to meet athletes where they’re at, whether they’re brand new to the game or want to build upon their foundations to get to the next level.

It’s quite an age range. Tell me more.

Given we’re a smaller club, we can be flexible in meeting the needs of participants. We will provide individualized instruction in a group settings. Groups will be organized based on skill level, age and experience.

Can I pay per month, or for the full session?

We offer two payment options. If you’d like to pay month-by-month, we charge $250. If you’d like commit to a three-month period, you can pay a discounted rate of $625.

Will my athlete compete in any tournaments?

We may look to organize participants into teams and participate in 1-2 local scrimmages or tournaments closer to the end of the program so that they can face competition after training. This, of course, depends on a number of factors: the number of participants, their age ranges and participant interest.

Please contact getinformation@qcva.org with any questions about this program. Thank you!
